Now that you've added a product to your store, you are open for business. Try placing a test order to make sure everything's working right.
Example 2.2. Placing an Order
- Navigate to the welcome screen of SoftSlate Commerce. By default the welcome screen is located at the root of the application, or /softslate. You should see your new category appearing in the "Browse" box on the left hand side.
- Click on the name of the category. This should take you to a page where your new product is listed. Click on the product's name. You should arrive on the product page, where you can add the product to your cart.
- Click the "Add to Cart" button to add the product to your cart, and then click the "Checkout" link to begin the checkout process.
- Proceed through the checkout process. Create a test customer account, and enter a test address. When you arrive at the payment screen, use "Visa" as the credit card name, and "4111111111111111" as the credit card number. Finally, confirm your order to finalize it.
